Abstract

Testimony of the experiences lived by Maria del Pilar Ramirez Varela, psychologist and teacher to whom the earthquake of September 19, 2017 surprised in Cuernavaca, Morelos after having taught a civil protection course and having participated in an evacuation drill. Her family participated in rescue work and assistance to brigade members in Mexico City. She choses to participate through giving emotional support in the most affected and least attended communities in the state of Morelos. She organized – through social networks – work teams that brought about the group “Therapists for Morelos”, who were very helpful with their emotional accompaniment in shelters and affected communities in Tlaquiltenango, Valle de Vazquez, Jojutla, “La Nopalera” in Yautepec. Witness of the social commitment of many people and of the gratitude of the people who opened their feelings, she ensures that these experiences have generated a profound transformation in her.
